Like the claws, in the past it was common for the strongest men of the tribe, generally hunters, to hang from their neck a necklace with the tusk of a ferocious animal that they captured to provide for their communities. That pendant became more than just a trophy, it was an offering where the wearer thanked his prey for giving his life to feed his family.
The tusk represents not only strength but courage to face your fears, as well as abundance, since the animal from which it was obtained provided sustenance for the hunter's family.
